Hyatt Place YYC

About the Project

Distinct in the Hyatt family, the YYC hotel is a new Hyatt Place and Hyatt House dual brand offering. The team was tasked to regionalize the standard design requirements as well as evaluate and lay out the programmatic requirement for this hotel. Based on the tones and material quality of the prairies, foothills and Rockies, the hotel amenity spaces are meant to reflect and remind guests of the rich Calgary landscape.

A conceptual regional design.

Control over all operational requirements.

Spaces

The design coordinates a welcome reception desk, living room space, library, e-centre, and guest bar as the main comfort features of the lobby. As per Hyatt standards, an annexed common kitchen and eating bar forms part of the daily breakfast provisions for the hotel. A conferencing centre, pool and gym round up the common amenities each guess can enjoy during their stay.

Responsibilities

Lead / Prime Interior Designer responsible for all interior design related functions on this project, including drafting, permit application and procurement, and construction administration.
